How to Choose the Right Hub Centric Ring
A hub centric ring fits into the center bore of the wheel and over the hub. Aftermarket wheels are made with a large center bore so one wheel fits many vehicles; on a car with a smaller hub that leaves a gap, and the wheel is centered only by the lug nuts. The ring closes the gap, so the wheel sits exactly centered on the hub and runs without vibration.
Two Numbers: OD and ID
The outer diameter (OD) must match the center bore of the wheel, and the inner diameter (ID) must match the hub of the vehicle. A ring sold as 73.1 → 60.1 fits a wheel with a 73.1 mm bore on a hub of 60.1 mm. Measure both with a caliper, or send us the wheel model and the vehicle and we find the size.
Plastic or Aluminum
Plastic rings do not corrode and will not seize to the hub, which makes them the usual choice in wet and salted-road markets. Aluminum rings are more rigid and better with heat from hard braking, but they can corrode against the steel hub over time, so a thin layer of anti-seize helps.
The Ring Centers, the Nuts Clamp
The ring does not carry the weight of the vehicle; the clamping force of the lug nuts holds the wheel. Its job is to center the wheel while the nuts are tightened. Rings are also used with wheel spacers when the spacer lip is smaller than the wheel bore.

Hub Centric Ring Questions
How do I find the right hub centric ring size?
The OD is the center bore of the wheel and the ID is the hub of the vehicle. Measure both with a caliper, or send us the wheel model and the vehicle.
Plastic or aluminum: which is better?
Plastic rings do not corrode or seize, so they suit wet and salted-road markets. Aluminum rings are more rigid and handle more heat. We make both.
Do hub centric rings carry the weight of the car?
No. The lug nuts clamp the wheel to the hub. The ring centers the wheel while the nuts are tightened, which prevents vibration.
Do I need rings with wheel spacers?
Only if the lip of the spacer is smaller than the center bore of the wheel. Then a ring sized from the lip to the wheel bore centers the wheel.
